i am 15 years old and i want to get higlights for new years and i need help to choose a color. my hair is black and i dont really know how to describe my skin color. i am mexican.

Get gold highlights. Its not TOO blonde, and it really compliments dark hair. Plus, you said you are Mexican which means it will really bring out the warm tones in your skin. Gold highlights would look beautiful. =]

i think that you should get a brown. not a light brown but not a dark one ither. thats really the only way that you could go with your color of hair.

Black hair with highlights will not look good. maybe just dye your whole head a color like a walnut brown.

it depends on what style you are going for whether it s the hard core or cute and a bit natural or or just something that would look great.

for more of a rocker look i would say.. red highlights

for a natural look i would go like ..light-ish brown highlights

just a good look that would follow pretty much any look blond highlights

i find that thin highlights look more edgy and at the same time more natural

where thick highlights tend to look gaudy and a bit cheap

that is just my opinion though

Go to the salon and ask for Low lights instead. They will be red, plum, or auburnish rather than blond, It will not be too drastic like highlights (this look is way too common in my opinion - and slightly cheap looking on darker hair).
