Best way to highlight hair if you have allergies?

My 13 year old daughter has dark blond hair and wants highlights, the problem is she is allergic to dyes and fragrances? Any ideas?

dont hilite the hair... you dont want to risk it no matter how bad she wants to... if worse comes to worse.... consult a hairstylist/color specialist on ways to get her hair hilited w/o affecting her hair... Plus she's a little young to start damaging her hair with hilites

How about exposing your 13-year-old to the idea that taking extreme measures for superficial "beauty" is not a good idea?

have her do the ends of her hair instead of the roots. colored ends are also cute. and have her have temporary highlights that go away when you brush or wash. she can always reapply

best thing to do is go to a specialist hairdressers. go to your local hairdressers see if they can help you. if not they can advise you where to go.... maybe using a accetone free dye.

the only option she has is to use a lemon juice rinse and sit out in the sun. don't let her do this too often, though, because it's pretty rough on your hair. and, even though she probably doesn't want to hear it, she should work on liking the person she is, without the highlights - try to let her know she is beautiful and special just the way she is.

Sit in the sun for a looong time..

There is no safe way to highlight hair with allergies. is it a skin allergy? If so she can get a highlight thru a cap. If she has asthma then there is no way.
