You should put like a light blonde highlight in your hair. My ex-girlfriend did it and it looked really good.

First you need to ask yourself whether or not you want a "I've spent all summer at the beach, which gave me beautiful sunkissed natural highlights" OR "I want a more bold, more noticable colorization to my hair.

Personally, the streaks look "homedone" (you want your highlights to look professional, whether or not you went to a salon), so I could go with actual wispy highlights. How many you want depends on how long you want to look like you've been in the sun :D

Highlites would be a easy transition, would brighten you present color, and add brightness to your face. I would suggest a highlite color in the carmel group. Would blend better with your hair color now, you can always go lighter with your high lite,s later.

I think highlights look more natural and nicer. Depending on the effect that you want, you could go for a mid-golden-blond or, for a very lively look, you could try going for a red or auburn light brown.
