My best friend done that and it came out lime green. You would need to lighten the areas first then carefully do it but you could always test it on a lil bit of hair but i think it will still go green . so i would evn lightnin thu brown THEN put the blue in it

if you have brown hair and use blue semi-permanent dye, you'll end up with a bluish/greenish tinged brown. to get the blue to show up fully, you'll need to bleach your hair to a very light platinum blonde first. if you don't, or have yellowish blonde after lightening, you'll end up with a more greenish blue.

to have it come out actually blue

you have to bleach it then dye it

if i remember correctly (its been a while since i was a hairdresser) it depends on what color blue. if you have dark hair it is hard to use semi permanent color on. i tried giving my friend maroon highlights and you could only see them in the sun. kind of a waste if u ask me. you may want to consider an alternate way to get the blue in your hair. or even ask someone who has it done
