Honestly, I would go to a salon and have them do it for you. I have made too many mistakes playing "kitchen beautician". I have learned my lesson :)

If you are going to do it yourself, maybe you want to try a temporary hair color. There are some at the drug store that wash out after a couple of months.

just dye your hair but only use semi-permanent hair color
